- Record "Hello" and/or "Goodbye" in your own language : in Mp3 320kbps or Wav format
- The recording must be personnal, no "internet grabing"
- As many languages as you want, one record per language
- Tag the files with the language used and your name. Example : "Hello_Greek_Niklos.mp3" or "Goodbye_Turkish_Sami.wav"
- Send the files using the group dropbox :

Send us your words(You don't need to have a Soundcloud accout, just click "chose file")
- All the submissions will be used !
- The submited files will remain online, as free download databse for anyone who wish to use them, using Creative Commons licenses
- Deadline to send file is september 30th

Manudub discovered DUB in the early 80’s through the punk energy from bands like The Clash, The Slits & such, which drove him to the Jamaican masters such as Prince Far I & King Tubby,Jah Shaka...
Supporter of the DIY philosophy, he builds up his home studio and begins to produce some electronic dub tracks while working at " Wax records", the indie-electronic record-shop of Marseille. Probably the best place to deepen his musical culture...
For the past 10 years, this French dub-activist has shared his vision of dub & bass culture through several radio shows on "Radio Grenouille", and played as a DJ in different venues and festivals, such as Szeiget, Air Libres and many others clubs...
Manudub also worked with several artists of the dub planet, from China to Jamaica, England to Japan…
His motto ? “No boundaries but DUB”.

" Working with Ebsa is like listening to his flow, it comes natural. There are no artifices, his style and his own identity merge together - the need of spreading a message that unifies rather than dividing.
Producing the music for âFree as airâ has been equally intense and natural, where dub style had to support rap lyrics in a functional way and therefore maintain a certain level of symmetry, seeking to reveal the contrast between controlled sound power in slow motion and fast flickering, sharp lyrics.
The choice by LCL to do a release for its fifth anniversary with Free as air is source of great pride ! Through the remixes it obtains the final form it should have : an intertwining track that is a sign of mutual friendship and respect between us."

" When mildtape and I decided to make a song together and once he sent me the instrumental track, I wrote the lyrics for Free as Air within an hour. They came to me very easily and it felt natural.
Influences for the lyrics include: the human world, people, my life, the project itself, soundcloud.com and the LCL label.
The lyrics cover many universal themes: communication & internet, history & future, technology & nature, lyrics & music, sound system culture and the synergy that can be achieved when people âteam upâ.
Mainly written in the English language, I also used Italian and French phrases in the lyrics. This was to emphasise the notion that - though we are all from different countries, have different cultures and use different languages - all humanity is connected through music."

"This is a very special release for us !

Summer 2009 : LibreCommeLair (LCL) opens a free creative commons sound bank filled by the artists who collaborated or released on the label.
To spread the new, LCL decides to organize a remix contest based on the sound bank. Some musicians remixed one track, some mashed up two, others mixed up several and one even used all the samples in the same track (guess wich one) !

Early 2011 : after monthes of dilemna, a jury composed of Netaudio and Creative Commons music actors makes a selection of the contest entries.
This Jury is composed by FreeMusicArchive (U.S.), Notheen (Hungary), Subflow (France), DivergenceFM (France), INQ (Spain), Netwaves (Belgium), Netaudio Berlin (Germany), AQuietBump (Italy), iD.EOLOGY (Germany) and Dogmazic (France).

The idea of mildtape comes from the melting of two different brains. One phantom powered and one phase inverted.
A work of fine tuning and biasing gives track (at 15ips) to the musician, producer, engineer and beatmaker to be alternatively one or all.
The flexibility of moving horizontally towards production stages allows the ability to disassemble and reassemble mildtape in new configurations: a scattered cluster or a single microchip.

We're very happy and excited to present on FMA the pre-selection for "La Boite A Sons" composition contest !

THE STORY :

Summer 2009 : LibreCommeLair (LCL), a french online music label, opens a free creative commons sound bank filled by the artists who collaborated or released on the label.

To spread the new, the label decides to organize a remix contest based on the sound bank.

January 2011 : The contest entries are now closed, we were initialy supposed to make a pre-selection of the tracks we received, but we just couldn't because of the variety and quality of tracks : dub, reggae, electroacustic, d'n'b, house, electronica... So we let the Jury decide !

Speaking about it, a jury composed of Netaudio and Creative Commons music actors will make a final selection that will be released as a compilation on LibreCommeLair.
The Jury will be : FreeMusicArchive, Notheen, Subflow, DivergenceFM, INQ, Netwaves, Netaudio Berlin, AQuietBump, iD.EOLOGY and Dogmazic.

As promised, here is the first (of a long serie) track submitted to our composition contest, related to "La Boite A Sons" free online sounbbank.

As a starter dish, a solid rework of taiwanese #1 hiphop band "Kou Chou Ching", by Zengineers from Germany.

We'll upload on this page all the tracks submitted to the contest, so follow or come back if you don't want to miss one...

CARTE BLANCHE  serie (LCLCB) : artists we like, that produce songs out of our usual musical line (dub and assimilated)

" Den Andra (that means "The second" in swedish) marks then end of a musical work that lasted more than 4 years.
Some of the album tracks are old tunes taht we finaly decided to record like “Mummy”, some others are quite recent like “Sweet as a cat”.
As the recording process takes a lots of time, it reflects in the songs, like a travel thru our different musical eras, influences, and instant wishes. Thru our life changes also.
We all agreed to put a little more electronic sounds, work the depth of the songs, to achiveve with this album a listening artefact, pleasant and strong.
We didn't agree all the time on the arrangements, the tracklisting and the cover (aaaaah, the cover...). Wild endless debats, hard to find majority, especially when you're four !"

" Den Andra is more than an album title : it's september 2010 nice surprise ! A mystical inspired and an enchanting music served by a unique voice.
We were looking foward to listen it since... april 2007, so 3 years were needed to give birth to Delgarma's second album.
All in all, that's not this much time for an english/swedish/french folk artefact of this kind..."

1- Produce a track using one or several of the sounds featured in the bank
2- Send it to contest[at]lclweb[dot]org
You can mix the sources, tempo and style are free. Your work must not contain any copyrighted material.
3- A first pre-selection will be promoted via freemusicarchive.org
4- A jury composed of cc music and netaudio actors will make a final selection, that will be released as a compilation on LCL

LCL is proud to present " La boite a sons", a free sound bank under a CC by-nc license, supplied by the artists that released or collaborated with our label.

The aim of this approach is to push further the use of CC licenses and encourage musicians to share more than just their tracks : share their raw materials !

Featuring samples from ARROGALLA, DISRUPT, JAMBASSA, KOU CHOU CHING, PEAK, VINILETTE, VOLFONIQ (to be growing aver time).
Many thanks to the involved artists for sharing their passion, and to the partners of this projects for supporting it.

You'll find bits of folkloric isntruments, reggae a cappella from Spain, hiphop a cappella from Taiwan, synth loops, drum loops and kits, lo-fi dub, electronics, organ slices, ...

You are free to use the samples, loops and a-cappellas in your creations as long as you respect the terms of the by-nc license.

Our fourth "Carte blanche" is given to Cldscp, an atypic duo from Argentina that brought the pop concept to its paroxysm, by composing in 2009 several tenth of tracks at an industrial rate with the most simple instruments : a mouth, a charango and some electronic toys.
The result is a crispy and childish love story you're not close to forget !

Moolen 's "Art of Heartwork" featured in an international extreme sports festival video presentation (FISE 2010)

ABOUT THIS RELEASE
Ras Amerlock is an american Dub producer who already released several tracks on the german netlabel "Jahtari" and autoproduced LPs and EPs.
This multi-instrumentalist, has a lot of hidden unreleased gems : here are some of them, just lightly remastered to fit in the same LP.
The tracks are rough and alive as vintage, if you approach your ears you might even hear the tape delay breathing...
Along the road, you'll meet some deluxe guests like Disrupt (Jahtari - Germany), Uffe (Sweden) and Mc Zulu (Perception 2020 - Panama).
A true Odd-yssey !

NETAUDIO Festival report - BERLIN (8-11 oct 2009)

The Netaudio is not only a 4 days festival into a mythic place located in the berliner "No man's land", it is also a concentration of energies from around europe (and the rest of the world), with the aim of promoting an original concept of music thru the internet...and it works perfectly !
This year is quite symbolic because we celebrate novembre 1989, when the Berlin wall gave up under the asault of the population. It is so symbolic because nowadays, the most efficient walls are invisible and in our minds...

During saturday's "Netaudio fair", whe had the pleasure to present the new website of LCL for the first time. Later that night Volfoniq hit the "dub" stage along with Disrupt, Peak and Metastaz. A short video of Volfoniq's gig is available here (thanks to Simon Roy).

We noticed during these days we spent in Berlin that the people here have the indestructible will to change things. A huge thanks to the whole Netaudio Berlin team for their welcome, their positive energy and the titan work they done !

Le Netaudio n'est pas seulement un festival de 4 jours dans un lieu mythique situé dans le "no man's land" berlinois, c'est aussi un concentré d'énergies venues des 4 coins d'Europe (et du monde) dont le but est de promouvoir une certaine idée de la musique sur Internet...et ça fonctionne à merveille!
Cette année est symbolique puisqu'il s'agit avant-tout de commémorer le mois de novembre 1989 lors duquel le mur de Berlin à flanché sous les assauts de la population à l'heure où justement des barrières invisibles tendent à se généraliser à coup de lois pour filtrer Internet.

Lors du "Netaudio fair" le samedi, nous avons eu l'honneur de présenter LCL dans ses nouveaux habits et bien plus tard dans la nuit, Volfoniq a investi la scène "dub" aux côtés de Disrupt, Peak et Metastaz...Une courte vidéo du live de Volfoniq est disponible ici (Merci à Simon Roy).

On a pu noter lors de ces quelques jours passés à Berlin, la détermination sans faille des berlinois à vouloir changer d'ère et les choses. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe du festival pour son énergie et l'ampleur du travail accompli!

- A NEW NAME : the LCL acronyme stays, but it now stands for "LibreCommeLair" (ex "Les Cristaux Liquident"). We keep the same activities : electro dub netlabel, and cultural events organizer.

With "Refixed" EP, Volatil translated 3 songs of their first album into the sound that envolve in at the moment : mixing techno and acoustic elements with the dubstep sound that is played in the Volatil live sets, while keeping Federico's vocals to preserve the "song" concept.

Second release from Arrogalla on LCL, “Exotic animals in the scrub” shows the new sonic orientations of the Sardinian dubber.

The sound gets lo-fi and crispy but with a strong acoustic dimension at the same time, due to the use of various Sardinian folk instruments and guests singers.

Arrogalla collaborated for this release with several sardinian artists (Claudia Aru Carreras, Ganga, Quilo, Randagiu Sardu) and french musician Volfoniq, adding slices of hiphop, melodica, and scratches.
