Save the date ! July 14th 2015 is the first edition of the Netlabel Day. On this date, more than 80 digital labels answered the call launched from Chile to make a massive release of tens of EPs and LPs on the same place : http://netlabelday.blogspot.fr
We will participate with a special compilation featuring 14th artists, regulars from our place mostly, and an exclusive dubclash between OICHO (aka David Harrow) and On-u sound tape archivist Dr Dub.
During
his sonic explorations, Caballo accidentaly opened a transmusical
portal from where Cumbia bass, voodoo Kizomba and post-nuclear pow wow
gave birth to a 7 tracks ufo labeled "Digital nomad". The name could'nt
be more suitable...

/ / / ABOUT THIS RELEASE / / /
::: ENGLISH ::: The EP is called HeartworK and it is exactly that. This is an important record for me because it is the first time I've release a body of work which was written, recorded and produced at one time. I expect the EP will give people a clear picture of where I currently am as an artist. Before writing these five songs in a 6-8 week period in late 2014, I hadn't written a song for over a year. My current positive and structured environment and lifestyle allowed me to be inspired upon hearing ATIRA's beats. The music allowed me write freely in a way that is more literal and meaningful than a lot of of my early work. I hope people will enjoy it, identify with it and be inspired/motivated by it. I also hope to get more offers for performances and collaborations as a result of the new EP. Big thanks to LCL for releasing my debut solo record: HeartworK EP 2014.
::: ENGLISH ::: I recorded my first track, Boom Bang Bang in early 2010. When I found mildtape’s music on SoundCloud back in November 2010 I felt a connection and decided contact him. The internet allowed us to communicate through email and listen to each other’s music. Our collaboration led to the Free as Air EP release on LCL in 2011 which features my lead vocals. This gave me a big boost to continue as a vocalist. One of the remixes on that release was by LATA who I have now met twice and become good friends with; we have performed together in London and Vilnius. My latest release is a five track solo EP. All the backing tracks are from the producer ATIRA from Houston, Texas USA. I discovered him as the producer of the music for Versace Python by US rapper RiFF RAFF. My 2014 EP is called HeartworK and it is exactly that. When I heard ATIRA's music it allowed me to write very freely to deliver a piece of work that truly represents me as a person and an artist. I hope people will enjoy it, identify with it and be inspired/motivated by it. I also hope to get more live bookings and collaborations as a result of the new EP. Big thanks to LCL for releasing my debut solo record: HeartworK EP 2014. ::: FRANCAIS ::: J'ai enregistre mon premier titre , "Boom Bang Bang" debut 2010. Papascandy is our first "classical reggae" release, so we're very excited about it, both because some of them are friends, and also because it's damn good !
"This LP is a selection we made from more than 240 tracks of the über-prolific Don Goliath. Chosing between all these gems has been a titan work, we hope that you'll enjoy them as much as we do !"

/ / / / / ABOUT THE EP / / / / /
It is a pleasure to welcome Herbata,incorporating the members of the former band Volatil who already released several bombs on the label. We meet back dub and electronic elements from Volatil, led by the atypical voice of Federico, and undoubtedly enriched with Pope instrumentals and Tamen drums. A unique and authentic dub blend straight from the crucible of the ever-fizzing Barcelona !!!

[LCL30] Volfoniq : Ernest Out on LCL (LibreCommeLair) november 2011
Creative Commons by-nc-nd license.
Ernest is Volfoniq first "own" album. After 7 years traveling, meeting and sharing, producing EPs and remixes, the musician lays his famous hat to share with you 11 tracks inspired by his experiences...
" Mixing electronic sounds with world-music influences and fieldrecordings (such as Muezzin chants in Istanbul, sounds caught during a Sufi Ceremony in the middle of the Turkish region of Kappadokia), “EPP1” is a fascinating and imaginative slow stream of electro-acoustic melodies and sonic landscapes. A melting-pot of sounds inspired by different cultures and their representative music, which reflects the mix of cultures in modern cities. “EPP1” is the result of a collaborative work between musicians with different backgrounds, poets, video-makers and random people met on the road. The album has been recorded in The Brandy Alexander Project’s home studio in Brixton (London) between 2007 and 2011." Brandy Alexander Project - september 2011
" Travels, encounters, mix of cultures and sounds, that's the story of this album, and also the kind of stories we like to tell ! EPP1 is the perfect illustration of a clever conversation between genres and eras." LCL - september 2011

" I would define this LP as a travel diary with a " Lo-fi higrade computer Dub 2.0 " soundtrack : homestudio dub inspired by jamaican & punk philosophy of DIY, blended with inspirations and energy stored during my excursions in Asia. This is also the result of years sharing with a lot of other "dub activists" from around the web, the track with Leah is a good example of this process. I call this different communities & networks "Dub 2.0"..." Manudub - july 2011

::: ARTIST BIO :::
Manudub discovered DUB in the early 80’s through the punk energy from bands like The Clash, The Slits & such, which drove him to the Jamaican masters such as Prince Far I & King Tubby,Jah Shaka... Supporter of the DIY philosophy, he builds up his home studio and begins to produce some electronic dub tracks while working at " Wax records", the indie-electronic record-shop of Marseille. Probably the best place to deepen his musical culture... For the past 10 years, this French dub-activist has shared his vision of dub & bass culture through several radio shows on "Radio Grenouille", and played as a DJ in different venues and festivals, such as Szeiget, Air Libres and many others clubs... Manudub also worked with several artists of the dub planet, from China to Jamaica, England to Japan… His motto ? “No boundaries but DUB”.

::: ABOUT THIS RELEASE :::
" This EP celebrates the 5th anniversary of LCL. 5 years, 31 releases, and hundreds of thousands of downloads later, we keep the same aim : spread and connect ! The tale of LCL continues within the next chapters. Read hereafter what the instigators of this release have to narrate..." LCL - may 2011
" Working with Ebsa is like listening to his flow, it comes natural. There are no artifices, his style and his own identity merge together - the need of spreading a message that unifies rather than dividing. Producing the music for âFree as airâ has been equally intense and natural, where dub style had to support rap lyrics in a functional way and therefore maintain a certain level of symmetry, seeking to reveal the contrast between controlled sound power in slow motion and fast flickering, sharp lyrics. The choice by LCL to do a release for its fifth anniversary with Free as air is source of great pride ! Through the remixes it obtains the final form it should have : an intertwining track that is a sign of mutual friendship and respect between us." mildtape - may 2011
" When mildtape and I decided to make a song together and once he sent me the instrumental track, I wrote the lyrics for Free as Air within an hour. They came to me very easily and it felt natural. Influences for the lyrics include: the human world, people, my life, the project itself, soundcloud.com and the LCL label. The lyrics cover many universal themes: communication & internet, history & future, technology & nature, lyrics & music, sound system culture and the synergy that can be achieved when people âteam upâ. Mainly written in the English language, I also used Italian and French phrases in the lyrics. This was to emphasise the notion that - though we are all from different countries, have different cultures and use different languages - all humanity is connected through music." Ebsa - may 2011
